Pluto’s Hound

I was asleep…

A sleeping mountain
beneath the green trees,
hills, and valleys.
I dare not stir,
lest the villages burn
from magma flows
and quaking earth.

But rise I must,
a pluton,
Pluto’s hound,
pushing forth
from the ground,
to hunt the souls
he left unbound.

I am awakening.

Cold shuddering
gives way to shaking
as I prepare to unmake
a world that is
not of my making.

  1. First of all, awesome poem. It makes me think of Greek and Roman mythology…
Second of all…I’ve been looking around your page for a while now, and I can’t find anything that says, “Follow” for the life of me. I ended up searching for you in the WordPress app and followed you there, but…here…in a browser…I’m not seeing it. Am I just having a blind moment?

    • I couldn’t find a single option in this theme to add a WP follow button. I did add an e-mail follow under the three dots at top right. Be advised, I’m pretty sure that I’ll be able to see whatever email you enter. If you’re using the WP reader, there should be a follow option in there, too. Thank you for your interest!
