Unfolded?

I am somewhere
between the Beginning
and the End.

Atop the summit,
I can see clearly
the way it’s unfolding.

Unfolded? Both, I think.

In front, Old Sun sets.
Behind, Luna whispers
apologetic regrets.

But, here on my summit,
I am caught between
their rays, cold or burning,
and it seems that
I have been burned
onto the surface

of each.

  1. Love, love, love! Another favorite for me, for sure! I just nominated you for the Sunshine Blogger Award (see my post about it). Thank you for sharing your poetry. Thank you for inspiring me. Thank you for mentoring me.

    • Thank you so much! I am glad it resonates with you and I’m very thankful for the nomination. Here’s a secret: one of my lyrical/poetic inspirations is a musician named Frank Turner. While you may not like the music, his poetry is stunning. Of course, opinions vary.

      • Always thankful for those bonus tidbits too! Last music you recommended, I put on repeat for a week lol. (I do nothing in moderation.)

      • Frank is amazing. I don’t think I made clear how honored and proud I am that you nominated me. For someone who traffics in words, I don’t know how to use them sometimes.

  2. We are caught between a dream and an idea, residing somewhere in the chasm between the two. I love your poem..and I beg the question: Are we ever really anywhere or are we always living in limbo, floating between two places? While thinking of the past and the future, what of the now?

    • I’m happy you enjoyed it. I believe we remain in limbo until we learn to balance expectations with our willingness to work toward them. That dissonance prevents us from recognizing truth in our lives, I think. If we leave part of our consciousness in the past, while attempting to project it into the future, we’re at a huge deficit in the now.

I’m sleepy, so I apologize it that was nonsensical.
