We Begged Peace

Today, we held
the demons at bay,
and begged peace,
a final surcease
to the Wars with
these demon beings.
They balked
and gibbered,
but we were clever
in the pact.
The contract, writ
of our own flesh,
pushed them back
into the Pit
from whence
they came.

What a battle!

Glory be!

We’ll meet again
tomorrow,
courtesy of the
unfriendly Host.
We’ll fight again
tomorrow,
when the demons
return and
are running
free.
